This half term, our school hall was transformed into a lively hands-on zoo experience during a special visit from a local wildlife expert. The visitor brought an amazing assortment of small animals, including a friendly tenrec, a very chilled royal python and Speedy the tortoise. This exciting visit perfectly supported our current English topic on animal habitats and life-cycles. We are really looking forward to using all our new knowledge to write a Non-Chronological Report.
Our students showed fantastic curiosity and respect as they interacted with the creatures. They learned about the unique adaptations, diets, and native environments of each animal through interactive demonstrations. Many brave students even volunteered to hold the reptiles, feel the tenrec’s spikes and the hard shell of the tortoise. It was an unforgettable, enriching experience that has inspired a few weeks of wonderful creative writing and scientific enquiry in the classroom.
