Revd Canon Ian Wildey
I am the head teacher at Diamond Wood Community Academy and was really pleased to be asked to join the Governing Body at Ravensthorpe Junior School. I have worked in Ravensthorpe for over 30 years and feel I know and can support the community really well.
Diamond Wood Community Academy and Ravensthorpe Junior School work closely together in the best interests of the children and families of Ravensthorpe. I am currently on the Standards and Effectiveness Committee.
In my free time I enjoy walking, socialising, travelling and spending time with my family.
“I am Charlotte Gee and I live in Mirfield. I have a degree in teaching and learning and my career has been based around delivering high quality training and development and coaching to adult learners and also developing young adults in their achievement of apprenticeships. I am passionate about learning and also supporting, developing and training adults across a range of subjects including leadership and management, teaching and a variety of personal development skills. I help organisations and individuals to achieve their individual development requirements.
My inspiration behind becoming a school governor was that I work closely with lots of adults who didn't enjoy their time at school and this has had a negative impact on their lives and their views about learning and I am passionate about helping them to see learning and development differently, by making it fun, supportive, achievable and rewarding. Being a governor allows me to support and challenge the school leadership team so that the children of in Ravensthorpe Church of England Junior school have the best possible experience of school, which in turn may engage them into life-long learners.”
Originally from Ravensthorpe, I attended Ravensthorpe Infant School, as it was known then, back in the late 1960s. I began my teaching career in Plaistow, in the London Borough of Newham, before moving to Bradford and then back to Kirklees. Ravensthorpe Junior School is my second headship. I was previously the headteacher at Eastborough J I and N School in the centre of Dewsbury. I have been married for 29 years and have three children between the ages of 21 and 26.
