School Council

At Ravensthorpe CE (VC) Junior School we believe that our pupils should have a voice and help us lead the school forward, making it the best school it can be. Our school council does just that!

The School Council meets with Mr Rhodes on a regular basis and makes important decisions about key issues in the school. It also has a heavy involvement in organising school fundraising events to help benefit others. You can learn more about our fundraising by clicking on the tab on the left-hand side.

The council is made up of one representative from each class; pupils are elected by their peers based on their pledge towards school improvement. The names of our councillors can be found in the Autumn Newsletter below.

The children are responsible for gathering the views of their peers as well as suggesting brilliant ideas of their own.

The student council is involved in organising extra-curricular activities; they allow the school to be exposed to external matters outside the classroom; they plan and deliver assemblies to the whole school; they implement new strategies and are outstanding role models for the school.

Only recently, our School Council has acquired some recycling bins; they conducted an assembly to encourage everyone to recycle and are responsible for collecting and emptying the bins weekly. Our next challenge...? Lunchtime games and fruit!
